Bnei mitzvah Programme
We are excited to invite children in years 6-8 to join the Havurah Bnei Mitzvah Program.
B’nei Mitzvah sits at the heart of our community; since our inception in 2019, we have celebrated many of our young people reaching this important Jewish milestone at special Shabbat Baboker services. From 2025 we are delivering an exciting new two-year programme in collaboration with other small Masorti communities. The B’nei Mitzvah group will meet monthly to explore a varied curriculum building their Jewish knowledge. Their individual B’nei Mitzvah experience will culminate in a Havurah celebration focusing on the young person and their family.
The curriculum takes the children on a journey through Jewish history, traditions, theology, festivals and values, helping them to understand their identity and how Jewish history and traditions relate to us in the modern age.
The Bnei Mitzvah sessions will take place once a month at different venues. The young people will also get the chance to experience sleepovers and outdoor activities.
The sessions will be enjoyable and engaging, allowing kids to build relationships with each other and create a cohort within the Havurah community whilst also forging connections with young adults from other communities; all whilst developing and strengthening their own Jewish identities.
